Several crimes have been reported this week in the Trimdon/Sedgefield area - details here.. Some of these crimes have occurred as the result of vehicles or premises being left insecure, Police are asking local residents to secure their property in the best way possible in order to prevent any similar crimes from occurring in the future.

Early evening/overnight of Sunday 14th of February 2010 six crimes have occurred in the Sedgefield, Fishburn and Trimdon areas. A sneak in burglary at Northside Buildings (hand bag taken) and theft from motor vehicle Harwood Court (diesel siphoned) in Trimdon Colliery. A garage burglary in Main Road (golf clubs taken) and burglary at the Bird in Hand public house (cash and alcohol taken) in Trimdon Village. Two thefts from motor vehicle in Sedgefield Mitford Court and North Park Road, wallet/cash and sat nav taken. Overnight Wednesday the 17th of February 2010 an attempt burglary has occurred at Commercial Terrace Trimdon Colliery (shop premises) the window was unsuccessfully forced. Also on the night of the 14th of February 2010 a wheelie bin was found in an alley in Fishburn this contained some power tools and a cutlery set, to date no victim has been located for this property. Thursday the 18th of February 2010 a cement mixer was found in a rear yard of a property in Fishburn again no victim can be traced. Some of these crimes have occurred as the result of vehicles or premises being left insecure, we are asking local residents to secure their property in the best way possible in order to prevent any similar crimes from occurring in the future.
